New Story Acceptance!!!

Posted: January 14, 2013 in Uncategorized

Got some good news  last week: a short story of mine that I had revised extensively for Dark Moon Books back in October was accepted over there by Lori, assistant editor, for publication in one of their digests a bit later this year!  Not sure which release it will be in, but I’m pretty certain it will come out by the summer.  I’ll keep you posted.

BTW, I recently read a great novella by Mark Allan Gunnells, entitled, The Summer of Winters.  I’ve followed Mark for a couple years now, and raved about his novella, Asylum, which was released a year or more ago.  With TSOW, he displays tremendous improvement in his overall craft, and I feel it’s his breakthrough tale.  If you like coming-of-age stories dealing with teens, a little romance thrown in to temper the serial murders abounding, not to mention a disturbing bit of incest, sexual abuse and rape, try out this short novel.  It works on all levels and is absolutely fantastic!

Lastly, I wanted to mention my writing buddy, Michael McBride, who co-authored my novella, Infinity Twice Removed.  Mike is a phenomenal, prolific writer, who subtly prodded me to get back into the writing game.  If it weren’t for him, my past three years of fiction writing would never have come about.  Anyway, he’s got a great new novel out in HC from Thunderstorm Books, called The Coyote.  He released it several months ago in digital format, and it’s been selling like hotcakes at Amazon, but it just now received its much-needed HC release.  Do yourself a favor and buy this tale, in HC if you can find it (maybe on Ebay), but if you can’t, pick it up in digital for your Kindle or Nook or other reading device.  It’s a superb tale of undocumented aliens, coyotes (the animal kind as well as the human kind), a unique serial killer, and an FBI agent.  You’ll be pleased you did!

That’s it for now!  Take care!
